Okay, the old exhaust system is out of the car so it is time to install the new race header. Shouldn't be a problem. (...can you say "foreshadowing"? I knew you could... ) The image at the right is from the point of view of laying on the floor and taking the picture straight up. In the foreground is the engine block, the top of the image is the axle, the object in the background is the intake manifold, and of course, in between are the exhaust outlets awaiting their header. Before we look at the installation, and the quagmire it became, let's look at the header. |

The
TT header is a 4-to-1 design of 1 5/8
primary pipes of equal length that connect to the collector via a slip
connection (helps the longevity of the header letting it 'give' some
during acceleration/deceleration). |

The
TT header comes with a one piece gasket. I had to cut a notch in the
gasket since my block has the pins that help align the head to the block.
The casting sticks out a little bit in the back of the block, hence
the notch. The header accepts a standard oxy sensor. |
